I had an email today from another "fan" and she asked to be on our email list and wants to join as a follower also. I'll officially welcome her once she successfully joins.

Welcome! Melanie, Kay, Chieko are new followers!
I have been encouraging the Art Stand Gallery artists to become followers of this blog. We now have 4 followers, including myself. I'd like to welcome Melanie Fountain, our very first follower, and NOT one of our artists plus Kay Gaston and Chieko Delgado as our second and third followers. I think that we should offer Melanie an Art Stand poster as a special "Thank You!" for being our very first follower. (Melanie, if you drop by the Art Stand and identify yourself as the first follower, the artist sitting will give you a complimentary Art Stand poster! Artists: take note and greet Melanie with an enthusiastic welcome and a poster when she comes in next.) :)

ReplyDeleteThanks so much!! I will stop by the Stand as soon as I get a chance. I drive by nearly everyday but usually before and after your open hours.
I have been in the Stand several times and I just love the atmosphere you have. I love the art too!! Being an artist myself, I love to look at others work...I always seem to learn something.
I also have a question for all your artists...I have planned a fundraiser for Mother's Day weekend for the fight against domestic violence. I would like to put out a Call to Artists for this event. I am asking artists to donate a piece for this event. Their piece will be given as a gift to one of the Mom's who attend this grand event. Each artist will receive a reciept that has the Tax ID number needed as their donation is 100% tax deductible.

Melanie--I read about your wonderful "project" on your blog. I, for one, will be happy to donate something for your event. I will ask the other artists at the Art Stand if they would be willing to do so, as well. In fact, if they are reading the blog, they will find out through our comments. Otherwise, I'll try to be sure that I let them know. If you come by on May 2nd, you can ask some of them yourself--if you come to my studio, I will personally give you something that day.

I hope to stop in at the Art Stand tomorrow morning. My husband and I are going on a 5 day fishing trip. (I am so excited!!!) I told him the other day that on our way down the hill I wanted to stop in and say hi.

Melanie, I just need to know how to get the donation TO you. I hope you had a great trip--I've been away also so I wasn't at the Art Stand meeting to talk to the others about your "proposal". Hopefully, some are reading about it here and maybe you'll get some other donations. If you come by my house on May 2nd, I'll give you mine then. Otherwise, we'll have to figure out a way for me to leave it at the Art Stand or something. I'll actually be there on Sunday from 11 to 5, if you're in the area.
